The Gold Coast SUNS as part of its commitment of delivering 5,000 hours of community support has developed elite and sustainable talent and community engagement programs.

Indigenous Programs
The Club has worked to build comprehensive and culturally appropriate diversity programs engaging both the Indigenous and Multicultural communities of the Gold coast.

The GC SUNS are committed to advancing Indigenous excellence through existing and new programs, and that’s why we are proud to deliver the Jarrod Harbrow Leadership Academy. The Academy will provide a culturally supportive environment and enable talented Indigenous youth to access high performance facilities and resources. Participants will develop their leadership capacity via tailored mentoring programs facilitated by players including Jarrod.

Multicultural Programs
The GC SUNS are dedicated to strengthening social inclusion and developing progressive partnerships with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) businesses and community members of the Gold Coast.

The Club’s New Migrant and Refugee Engagement Program, Multicultural Schools Program and Diversity Engagement Function are fundamental programs and initiatives that improve social cohesion for these multicultural communities.

Female Football
The GC SUNS are committed to driving gender equality and have developed strategies to increase female engagement and participation.

Working with AFL Queensland the Club will continue delivering the SUNSETS talent program assisting the development of Gold Coast’s best female footballers. The club will also initiate off field engagement via key programs, including the SHINE schools program and Women of The SUNS network.

SHINE Schools Program
The club has developed the SHINE Schools Program to encourage students towards living a healthy and active lifestyle, grow awareness of beach safety and how to play AFL and a commitment to play AFL.

The SHINE schools program will allow the next generation to SHINE and be the best they can be and has delivered to over 3,000 students at 30 schools in 2016.

Each student who participates in the FREE six hour program that is run over a four week period will experience firsthand and learn about:
